Whitney passes Asbury's CNA Clinic and written exam. Waiting for Tennessee State exam.

CNA Classes are going well. Whitney worked 103 hours in the last 2 weeks (too many), but she is happy for the money!

Whitney Dickey, born July 17, 1989 now lives with the Henderson family.

Whitney is in the process of finishing getting her GED (hopefully within the next few weeks). She also started a CNA training program Thursday September 7 at Asbury Place in Maryville. This is a 4-6 week training program is designed to provide the basic training for a nurse aide to function in a nursing home or health care facility, improve the quality of care, and to increase the positive perception of the nursing assistant. It is the intention of this program to motivate learning, encourage career development, and provide necessary skills for job opportunities. The conceptual framework of the Nurse Aide Training Program is centered around the state regulations mandated by the Tennessee Department of Health and Environment.  After the GED and CNA programs are finished Whitney will be working full time at Asbury Place. As soon as she has saved some money we will be looking into getting a car for Whitney so that she will be better able to get to work and to attend any future classes. The CNA program is only the 1st step in the long process for Whitney to become an LPN or RN.
