Judy & Brian Schaff's Carmel Corn -
Ingredients - 6 quarts of popped corn or 2 bags (non-flavored) of microware popcorn 2 cups light brown sugar 1/2 cup light corn syrup 2 sticks of butter 1/2 tbsp cream of Tartar 1/2 tsp baking soda
Instructions - Mix above ingredients except popcorn and baking soda in a saucepan large enough to accommodate a baking soda boil over. Bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes over low heat. Remove from heat and add baking soda. Mix well. You'll get a baking soda boil over. Pour over popcorn. (Judy uses a roaster). Mix well. Bake at 250 degrees for 30 minutes, stirring every 7-10 minutes. Remove from oven and pour onto large cookie sheet or on wax paper on the counter top. Break apart as it cools.
